Wow, I have gotten lazy.

To be honest, I haven’t seen the inside of a library for several weeks now. I’ve been borrowing books through holds that have finally arrived and my dad has been kind enough to get them for me. I will most definitely be doing reviews for all of these books once I’m finished them.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I’m nearly finished and so far, it’s not too bad but I’m haven’t leapt onto the SJM bandwagon yet. Something about Celaena doesn’t sit well with me, so I had to put it down for a bit.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I’m curious on which side of the spectrum I land on. It’s an either-you-love-it-or-hate-it book, and generally I usually fall in the love-it side. And who doesn’t love beautiful language and fantastic world-building?

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Started this last year. Was halfway through it until I had to return it AND I couldn’t renew it. Grr.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Because I need a cute read and I need to be away from analyzing literary texts and the stress from school.

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Because after venturing into the light of cute romance, I need to delve into the darkness of my soul. So this is probably perfect. Wow, that sounded dramatic.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

Greek mythology and Beauty and the Beast. Need I say more?

 

After I finish this hefty pile, what should I read next?

  1. Eeep I hope you love Cruel Beauty! It’s such an excellent retelling 😀 Oh oh oh and Since You’ve Been Gone! AH I adore that novel so much–an excellent contemporary. Yeah, I didn’t like Throne of Glass because Celaena wasn’t badass like the author made her to be at all. But trust me, CoM is where everything gets real amazing.

  2. I haven’t been inside a library for MONTHS as well. Well, I’ve been in there for all other purposes BUT borrowing. That’s because I’ve been restricting myself, spending the past few months tackling my personal TBR.

    YOU PICKED UP VICIOUS????? THAT IS THE BEST DECISION EVER. THAT BOOK. SERIOUSLY, HILARY. YOU WILL LOVE IT
